Football 4 Peace Tournament
Rusthall entered a charity tournament in Heathfield, with the event aimed to raise funds for FOOTBALL 4 PEACE.
As always the players were excited by the prospect of playing against other teams and also the fact that this was a tournament with a difference.
It was a 3v3 tournament with no goal keepers and no throw ins (they were to be taken by a pass in) the one major difference was the fact there were no referees with the children encouraged to make decisions them selves.
We took three teams in total and the results were as follows:
Rusthall - Peru
Played 6 Won 2 Drew 2 Lost 2
Goal scorers:
Ollie 4
Max 2
James 2
Alfie 1
Rusthall - Uruguay
Played 6 Won 2 Drew 0 Lost 4
Goal scorers:
Dan 6
Luke 2
Charlie 1
Liam M 1
Rusthall - USA
Played 6 Won 1 Drew 2 Lost 3
Goal Scorers:
Oliver 6
Cameron 3
Harry 2
I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all who came to support the players, who played some fantastic one touch football which was a joy to watch.
A special mention goes to Rusthall - Peru who won the fair play award and finished 3rd overall. All were complemented on there sportsmanship and maturity when playing the game we all love.
WELL DONE ALL!

Rusthall Vs Crowborough + Tonbridge Juniors
RusthallRovers vs. Tonbridge Juniors
Rusthall dominated this game creating a number of opportunities, however they could not find a way past some inspired goalkeeping and superb team defending. Kaiden had very little to do in goal as a result of the hardworking team in front of him. Luke was superb in defence keeping the Tonbridge forward quiet and even had the opportunities to unleash a couple of left foot rockets that went narrowly wide. Nathan and Asher were breaking up attacks well making several vital blocks. Daniel and Liam caused a lot of problems with there pace and strength but just lacked that composure in front of goal. New signings Oliver, Cameron and Harry provided us with good options from the bench. Cameron and Harry never stopped running chasing every ball down and Oliver had a couple of opportunities to score on his debut but was thwarted from several fine saves. Overall we did not deserve to lose the game Tonbridge had minimal chances and managed a very good goal leaving Asher with no chance in goal. Lost 1-0
Rusthall Rovers vs. Crowborough
Crowborough provided us with a different challenge one of which we were unlucky to come away with a 3-1 defeat. They were very organised and with a strong powerful striker caught us on the break for a couple of there goals. We did manage a goal through Liam M, Cameron made a great block at the back passed to Harry who then slotted in Liam M to finish.
Rusthall United vs. Tonbridge Juniors
Rusthall won the game 2-0 with goals from top scorer Max Wilmshurst. This was a very good team effort, with Ollie and James H proving a good partnership in midfield with Ollie’s pace and James H ability to spot a pass a mile off. These were backed up by the tough tackling duo of Charlie and Alfie who tackle and break up attacks for fun! Ralph, Kieran and Matthew were brilliant, playing in several positions with no fuss, they made vital blocks and saves when called upon in goal. Joe G made a superb save when in goal from a rocket which several people commented on.
Rusthall United vs. Crowborough
Rusthall were very unlucky to lose this game 3-0. They played well as a team and never gave up and were credited by the opposition manager on there ability to fight to the end.
Overall well done to everyone who played, I know it is very difficult to keep rotating players all the time but with the size of the squad I have little choice.

Under 7’s beginthe New Year with a home fixture against Sevenoaks
Rusthall United
Rusthall played shooting up the hill the first half, and it took the boys a while to get going against a very well organised and impressive Sevenoaks team. However the defence of Luke, Liam E and Nathan were in impressive form snuffing out any attacks and with the pace of Kaiden and Daniel we always had a chance of scoring. As the half went out the difficulty in shooting up the hill showed and we conceded two goals.
In the second half Liam M came out of goal and Sam and James came on to replace Nathan and Liam E. The changes had an immediate impact with the tough tackling Sam and Luke controlling things at the back and making some excellent runs and it was from one of the runs that Rusthall managed to score. Luke made a great block tackle, with Sam picking up the loose ball and going on a mazy run before passing to Liam M to score from the tightest of angles 2-1. The goal lifted the whole team and they were now eager to get an equaliser and went close on several occasions with James and Daniel forcing fine saves from the keeper. Despite all the pressure it was Sevenoaks who scored next with a fine strike in the top corner after some impressive football. Rusthall did not give up and got a second goal through Liam M after a great pass from James he out muscled two defenders before firing low into the bottom corner. Final Score 3-2
The second game the boys were determined to get a win, andagain shot up the hill first, however the eagerness to score meant we left Luke to defend on his own against several opposing players and despite making some great tackles he couldn’t do it all on his own and we were 3-0 down at half time.
The second half was a different story and with the hill on our side we played some great football Liam E and Nathan making some vital blocks in defence meaning Kaiden, Liam M, Daniel and James could attack. James was very unlucky not score having a number of efforts blocked or going narrowly wide. Final Score 3-0
Overall two very impressive games with some great football and lots of effort being shown by all. Well done boys keep it up
Rusthall Rovers
The Rovers played both games on the flatter pitch and this suited them, with some free flowing football being played throughout the whole team. Ralph was particularly impressive in goal making some fine saves. Kieran and Alfie were strong at the back making some important last ditch challenges and Luke in his first game never stopped running. Matthew done very well in midfield, breaking up attacks and supporting Ollie and Max when he got the chance. Max was left alone upfront and despite not scoring never gave there defenders a minutes peace always chasing lost causes and producing a number of saves from the oppositions goalkeeper. Ollie was particularly impressive and got two goals that he thoroughly deserved for all his hard work over the two matches.
A fantastic team effort boys and very unlucky not to get a win. Well Done
A special Thank you to George W for all his hard work throughout training and his support on match days, it is much appreciated.
ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO HELP REFFERREE, PUT GOALS UP/DOWN OR ASSIST IN MANAGING THE TEAMS ON MATCH DAYS PLEASE LET ME KNOW THANKYOU

Rusthall visited Foresters and Paddock Wood for there nextmatch and came away with 3 defeats and a draw.
Rusthall Rovers consisting of Alfie, Sam and Luke in defence, Charlie and Liam M in midfield with Daniel upfront started there first game against Foresters kicking up the hill. This proved a difficult task with Alfie being kept busy in goal and Sam and Luke putting in some great last ditch challenges. However for all the boys efforts the half finished 4-0. Second half and the boys knew this was going to be a different game now with the advantage of the hill. Alfie came out of goal with Liam M donning the gloves on and Luke pushing up to midfield. This had an immediate impact with Liam M long kicks creating several chances for Daniel but the foresters keeper making some fine saves. Luke then went on a mazy run only to be chopped down in the area Penalty. Charlie stepped up to take and finished in empathic fashion leaving the goalkeeper with no chance in the top left hand corner. As the boys pushed for further goals they were caught on the break and the final score finished 6-1.
The Rovers second game was against Paddock Wood and the boys were determined to get a result, this showed from the start with Liam M and Charlie making some strong challenges in midfield, with Alfie and Sam keeping the oppositions strikers quiet. Rusthall dominance did pay off in the end with Daniel forcing a fine save from the keeper, Rusthall capitalised from the resulting corner when Liam M played a terrific ball into the box only for it to hit a paddock wood player and go in, 1-0. In the second half Rusthall played with great confidence passing the ball around and creating several chances for Daniel and Charlie which went narrowly wide. Paddock wood to there credit kept going and got there reward when they equalised, after Sam had saved the initial shot and couldn’t save the rebound. Charlie then went on a mazy run and played the ball to Luke who had his shot blocked by the defender only for Liam M to tap home the rebound 2-1. However in a very entertaining game which was end to end we couldn’t just hang on as we ran out of steam and Paddock wood got a second equaliser 2-2.
Rusthall United consisting of Kieran, Liam E and Kaiden in defence, Matthew and James in midfield and Ollie up front started there first game against a very strong looking Paddock wood side. They had two very dominant players in midfield who controlled the game and each player finished with a hat trick. However the boys kept going and were not effected by the score, and they managed to get a penalty after James made a great through pass to Ollie only for the defender to miss time his tackle. Ollie brushed his self off to slot the ball into the bottom corner and open his account for the season. A special mention has to go to Liam E, Kaiden and Matthew who put in some great defensive performances, and to Kieran for some fine saves, well done.
The second game was against Foresters and despite shooting up the hill first half the boys played fantastic. Kaiden made a number of vital saves, with Matthew and Max putting in good challenges at the back. They were supported by the busy Ollie and James who were linking up well to create a few chances which unfortunately they couldn’t capitalize on. Despite the boys fantastic efforts the hill played its part and they went in at half time 2-0 down. The boys had the hill on there side now and with Kieran and Matthew now in defence that gave Max the freedom to push forward and the front three of Max, Ollie and James gave foresters all sorts of problems with there intelligent runs and passes. Kieran and Matthew kept the forwards quiet and Liam E contributed in goal by making some great long passes. The pressure from Rusthall did pay off when Max scored an unbelievable goal straight from a corner kick. This spurred the boys on for an equaliser, and despite there pressure they couldn’t get it and in the last few seconds they were caught on the break final score 3-1.
All the boys were fantastic today and not once did any player give up, they played some great football but unfortunately on the day came up against some very well drilled teams. An excellent effort by everyone and a special thank you to Jason for managing United at late notice.
NEXT GAME TONBRIDGE JUNIORS AT HOME, COULD ANY VOLUNTEERS FOR REFEREES AND PUTTING GOALS UP AND DOWN PLEASE COME FORWARD IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED THANKS

Rusthall vs.Pembury
The new crop of Rustics started the season against Pembury on Saturday full of excitement and optimism.
Rusthall Rovers vs. Pembury City
The line up for rovers first game against Pembury city was Kaiden in goal, Luke and Alfie in defence, Charlie and Sam in midfield with Daniel up front. The game started at a slow pace with the boys getting used to playing on full size pitch and playing as a team, and this showed as the half ended 0-0. In the second half Mathew came on for Alfie and Luke went in goal. This added a new attacking dimension to the team with Kaiden linking well with Sam and Charlie in midfield creating a number of openings for Daniel with the Pembury keeper making a number of fine saves. However a quick counter attack resulting in Pembury taking a lead. This gave Pembury confidence and some great last ditch tackles from Charlie and Matthew and fine goalkeeping from Luke kept the score at 1-0. Rusthall had a moment of magic however with Luke throwing the ball to Kaiden who passed up to Charlie who had excellent vision to spot Daniel in space and his shot found the bottom corner to make it 1-1, which remained the final score.
Rusthall Rovers vs. Pembury United
Rusthall started with Sam in goal, Luke and Alfie in defence with Charlie and Kaiden supporting Daniel up front. The boys were determined to keep up there efforts from the first game and keep playing simple football. The game started at a fast pace with Kaiden and Daniel going close on several occasions and with Alfie and Luke giving the Pembury forwards no space to create any openings. In a quick 2 minute spell Charlie netted two fantastic goals one of which was unstoppable in the top corner, and it was the same player who then set up Daniel to tap home for a 3-0 half time lead. The boys were ecstatic at half time and just wanted to keep going and with a change in personnel at the break Matthew coming on for Kaiden it did not upset the balance. As Rusthall kept pushing for more goals and with some fantastic team play they scored a further 3 with Daniel getting his second of the game, Luke coolly finishing off a mazy run by Alfie and Kaiden returning from substitute to cap a fine individual and team display to make it 6-0.
A fantastic display and great team performance well done boys
Rusthall United vs. Pembury United
The line up for the first game was Parris in goal, Liam and Kieran in defence with James and Max supporting lone striker Ollie. Rusthall had an immediate advantage from kick off as they were shooting down the hill and this proved a decisive factor as Pembury struggled to get out of there half. Every time they did Liam and Kieran were quick to thwart any attacks and keep the pressure on Pembury by playing some excellent long passes out of defence, with Parris rarely getting troubled. The hill played its part and Max capitalised on two poor defensive clearances to put Rusthall 2-0 up at half time. All change for Rusthall at half time with Kieran going in goal, Logan and Nathan coming on in defence. The hill played its part again with Rusthall this time struggling to get out of there half and some fantastic tackles from Logan and brilliant blocks from the busy Ollie kept Pembury at bay. However in a rare Rusthall attack they were caught out leaving Kieran one on one and the Pembury forward coolly finished. This spurred Rusthall in to action and James picked up the ball in his own half beat two players and unselfishly played the ball to Ollie who in turn crossed for Max to complete his Hat- Trick.
Rusthall United vs. Pembury City
After a win in there first game the team were determined to get another and were shooting down the hill first however we knew we had to get an advantage before half time. The line up of Parris and Logan in defence protecting Liam in goal and James and Ollie supporting Max up front. Pembury City proved a tougher test with the goalkeeper making a number of fine saves from Max and James. Rusthall got an excellent opportunity to take the lead when Logan took a look throw into the penalty area which was handled by a defender and a penalty was awarded. Ollie was elected to take the spot kick and he could not have placed it any better in the bottom right corner only for the keeper to make a fantastic save. This spurred the team on and a great pass by Parris found Ollie who shot across goal and Max finished the move after cleverly applying a deft touch to take the ball away from the diving keeper. After going a goal up Rusthall where quickly under pressure and a penalty was awarded after a Rusthall player handled in the area. This was Liam’s first job in goal to face a penalty and despite getting a leg to it, it was placed well in the bottom corner to make it 1-1. Second half and Rusthall now had to defend going up the hill and with Logan now in goal he was kept busy making some fine saves. Kieran and Nathan were getting vital blocks and Ollie was busy chasing every ball down. However despite all there defensive hard work Pembury scored two further goals to make it a final score of 1-3.
A great game which had everything and despite the result a great performance from all well done
