Under 12B - Update December 2007.

Although like many teams we have not played for the last two weeks due to the poor weather league game results have improved for us throughout November and we have seen some good performances from the team.

Our cup involvement came to an end against Hastings Town and although we lost by four goals the whole team played well and gave 100% effort against a very strong competitive team. I was delighted that the opposing manager actually took time to congratulate our guys on their performance.

Our result of the month came against top of the league - Maresfield Dynamo, although I was`away on business I am advised by Harry and the majority of the parents that the lads played absolutely amazing, the pitch was reduced in width and our lads are looking forward to our home game as they believe that they can achieve another result against them.

Having had games cancelled due to rain it was only three weeks ago that we played against Crowborough in sub-zero conditions, when standing on the  line freezing cold, no tea available it really hits home that the Jockey Farm facilities are the best in the area, things soon warmed up when at 28 minutes we scored and went on to win 9-0, we even missed a penalty!

Well done to Sam Luke and Keith Paige both scoring their first goals of the season.

25/11/07 - Hailsham United 3 - Rusthall 3
Adam Howland,Tom Scott-Stewart,Jamie Brooker.

18/11/07 - Crowborough Athletic 0 - Rusthall 9
Adam Howland 3, Tom Scott Stewart 2,Keith Paige,Sam Luke,Jordan Veness,Jamie Brooker.

11/11/07 - Maresfield Dynamo 1 - Rusthall 2
Bradley Norman, Tom Scott-Stewart

4/11/07 - Rusthall 0 - Hastings Town 4

Wednesday night training is well attended and my special thanks go to Danny Veness who has really helped us out when needed, again I would like to extend my thanks to Dave Humm who has taken the responsibility of training, hopefully we will see some of the missing squad faces`attending more regularly in the new year.

Finally my sincere wishes for a '' Happy Christmas & New Year'' and look forward to seeing everybody in January.

Regards.
Andy Howland.

Under 12B – October 2007.

Our season started well with John Bowles sponsoring us again with new kit and rain jackets, our thanks are extended to Graham Smith who arranged everything on our behalf.

With the first six games completed, results have been good for us although we have dropped five points in the last two games but remain in fourth position in the league and still in touch with the teams above us.

With new signings – Jamie Brooker and Jordan Veness joining us in the summer we now have a squad of fifteen competing for places, however we have lost the services for the past three weeks of Sam Fitzgerald and Jamie Brooker due to injury, however both are fit for this weekends fixture against East Hoathly and Dan Dirilmis returned for the last two games after missing the first four games.

Special mention must go to Jamie Brooker scoring on his club debut, Jordan Veness scoring his first goals for the club, Jordan King and Adam Howland both scoring hatricks against Langton Green, additionally Sam Fitzgerald taking a free kick with a broken toe also scored against Langton, goal of the month goes to Jordan Humm for a wonderful strike against Crowborough, and finally Tom Scott Stewart joins Adam Howland in the lead in the goal scoring table both on six goals.

Rusthall Under Elevens – End of Season Update.

With our final games played last weekend at the Ridgewaye Tournament (23/06/07) reflection on season is filled with pride and success.

With a difficult start to our season with broken arms to two key team members, one being our goalkeeper who managed to break two arms! Additionally we did find eleven aside football completely different to our previous experiences and made a slow transformation into larger pitches and more disciplined position play, losing key players to the district side deprived us of securing our strongest available team, however our efforts have been rewarded by securing the ‘‘Runners Up’ position in our division.

Having finished behind Ridgewaye by three points if we had had secured victory at Seal after leading six nil at half time and allowing them to battle back and securing a draw I believe we would have secured the number one slot.

In addition to our ‘‘Runners Up’’ position we also came third in the league Sportsmanship Award, contrary to rumours I hope this indicates the professionalism of Harry and myself and it was great to receive some recognition of the verbal encouragement and advice that we offer to all opposing teams and referees!

Congratulations to all squad members for a great achievement and I hope we will continue with success next season and secure the number slot.

Season Squad: Alex Smith, Jack Franklin, Sam Fitzgerald, Jordan Humm, Tom Nelson, Bailey Sykes, Dan Diriumis, Keith Paige, Khalid Mwambakale, Adam Howland, Tom Scott-Stewart, George Webzell, Bradley Norman. Sam Luke, Jordan King,

Being able to field strong squads at the Crowborough  & Ridgewaye Tournaments paid dividends with us winning the Crowborough Tournament on a penalty shootout against Seal United, Alex Smith secured victory by saving the penalty and scoring from the spot securing victory after the game had finished level after extra time,

George Webzell, Adam Howland, Bradley Norman all scored on the day during the various games.

Squad: Alex Smith, Jordan King, Khalid Mwambakale, Bradley Norman, Adam Howland, Tom Scott-Stewart, Sam Fitzgerald, Tom Nelson, George Webzell, Jordan Humm.

The Ridgewaye Tournament saw us defending the trophy that the Rusthall under elevens won last season, with us winning the under ten trophy last season we had a challenge to ensure that Rusthall remained on the trophy, After the group stages that saw Adam Howland score three well taken goals in our first three group games, Tom Scott- Stewart, Bradley Norman & Tom Nelson also contributed with a well taken goals setting up a quarter final against Langton Green, after a draw both Khalid and Sam Fitzgerald scored from the spot leaving Alex Smith to repeat Crowbourgh heroics and save the penalty to set up a semi-final game against a very strong Horsham side.

Again another draw enabled us to experience for our first time the pressure of the golden Goal, Khalid Mwambakle scored from a free kick after brave efforts from Tom Scott-Stewart who had taken a boot in the face to secure the free kick, the photos will no doubt provide evidence for Tom who has since been sporting a nice black eye!

Tom Nelson and Tom Scott-Stewart scored in the final securing a 2-1 victory against Tonbridge Invicta who had taken an early lead.

Squad: Alex Smith, Jordan King, Khalid Mwambakale, Bradley Norman, Adam Howland, Tom Scott-Stewart, Sam Fitzgerald, Tom Nelson.

Although we have enjoyed success this season we have also been supported by a number of people who help in various ways, I would like to thank John Bowles for his sponsorship and I hope that we can renew our sponsorship with him for the forth coming season, additionally I would like to thank both Dave Humm and Dean King for their support and ownership of our midweek training sessions, I believe that these training sessions have contributed to the success of the season, both remain supportive members of our coaching team.

Alec Paige also deserves thanks for running the line, again the help really does make life easier for both Harry and myself.

I would like to express my personal thanks to Mick Fitzgerald and John Ronaldson for the continued support and advice they have provided over the past season, I look forward to the day when we win a trophy and Mick does not lead his squad to victory the following day as he did at both Crowborough and Ridgewaye!

As we look forward to next season it is with sadness that we lose the regular services of George, Bradley, Khalid and Alex, congratulations on your selection for the Tandridge League side obviously we will cross paths throughout the new season, however on a positive note I am delighted that they remain part of Rusthall Football Club.

Finally thanks to Harry Nelson for his continued support and assistance, I sincerely look forward to working with Harry again next season as we continue our partnership into its sixth year!

Regards.

Under 11 – 11 Aside. - January 07

Happy New Year!

With the new leagues confirmed for fixtures till the end of May 2007 I am pleased to confirm we have been placed in League B.

Initial fixtures for January are confirmed as follows.

Wednesday night training has resumed after the Christmas Holiday, Dave Humm & Dean King will continue to take these training sessions and I would request that these are supported as much as possible, I believe that the introduction of mid week training played a significant role in the improvement of results we experienced in November & December.

Although having played no games and therefore have no match reports to report, I would personally like to congratulate Dan Dirilmis who requested addition raffle books to sell for the Christmas raffle, it is good seeing a young lad who wants to do something for his football club.

Congratulations to Harry Nelson on achieving his half-century, Harry does not look a day over 49!

Finally I hope that we will soon start to play some games and that we achieve some good results, the look on the squads faces when we announce postponed games proves that they enjoy their football!

All the best.

Rusthall Under 11 (11 Aside) Team Progress. - October 06

It only seems a little time ago that we broke up for the summer holiday break, however the new season is upon us and already we have completed five of our fixtures.

After the success of winning the Ridgeway Tournament in the summer we have experienced some bad results during our baptism of eleven aside football, however we have been unable to field a full strength side due to broken arms, broken thumbs and the regular district games where we lose our stronger players.

With the doom and gloom hopefully behind us we are now seeing the return of previous injured and district team players which will hopefully now enable us to build the foundation to achieve some success.

With the introduction of both eleven aside and the seven aside mini soccer teams this ensures the complete squad is playing regular football, this also allows us to rotate the players when necessary and with new signings this could lead to the possibility of fielding two eleven aside teams at sometime in the future.

Despite a bad start to our season the lads still seem to smile and without a doubt still enjoy their football.

09/09/06 Home – Tunbridge Wells Foresters. (Central League).

Lost 1-5

Goal: George Webzell (Pen).

A disappointing start to the season although we fully accept that Foresters are a good football side we did not really compete in any area of the field, with both George and Khalid playing a district game prior to our game we started the game with a number of players playing in new positions.

George Webzell came on as a second half substitute scoring from the penalty spot that at least provided us with our first goal of the season.

Squad: Connor Wilson: Jordan Humm: Sam Luke: Tom Nelson: Sam Fitzgerald (Capt): Bailey Sykes: Khalid Mwambakala: George Webzell: Adam Howland: Jordan King: Charlie Crossley: Jack Franklin: Tom Scott-Stewart: Bradley Norman: Keith Paige.

16/09/06 Home  - Langton Green. (Central League). (Central League).

Won 9 - 5

Goals: Adam Howland, George Webzell (3), Bailey Sykes (3), Tom Scott- Stewart, Jordan King.

We started well and within the first 12 minutes stole a two goal lead, both Bailey Sykes and George Webzell secured hatricks, George scoring from the corner spot and a clear wonder goal from along way out, Tom Scott- Stewart (Jono) scored before volitiring to take over in goal, Adam Howland scored early second half after his stint in goal, Jordan King also scoring.

A good effort from the whole squad, which hopefully will give us, back some confidence.

Squad: Squad: Jordan Humm: Sam Luke: Tom Nelson: Sam Fitzgerald (Capt): Bailey Sykes: Khalid Mwambakala: George Webzell: Adam Howland: Jordan King: Charlie Crossley: Jack Franklin: Tom Scott-Stewart: Bradley Norman: Keith Paige

23/09/06 Home – Ridgewaye. (Central League).

Lost 0-5.

Adam Howland again started in goal for the first half with Connor Wilson taking over at half time, from the start of this game we never looked like scoring and the effort levels from the complete squad seemed very poor, on the day we just did not play well and the final whistle was most welcome!

Squad: Squad: Connor Wilson: Jordan Humm: Sam Luke: Tom Nelson: Sam Fitzgerald (Capt): Bailey Sykes: Khalid Mwambakala: George Webzell: Adam Howland: Jordan King: Charlie Crossley: Jack Franklin: Tom Scott-Stewart: Keith Paige:

07/10/06 Away – Pembury Athletic.  (Central League).

Lost 4-2

Goals: Tom Nelson, Keith Paige.

A well done to Tom Mead who volunteered to play in goal, despite the four goals conceded he put in a good effort.

With the Pembury leading 3-0 at half time, some stern words from Harry & myself we started the second half with a lot more passion and competed well, both Bailey Sykes and Tom Nelson scored bringing us back to 3-2 t this point we dominated although the numerous off sides prevented us levelling the scores, however a break away goal late in the game killed the game for us.

On a positive note we played a lot better than previous games and was unlucky to not secure a draw, congratulations to Dan Dirilmis who made his eleven-aside team debut & Keith Paige who scored his first goal for the club.

Squad: Tom Mead: Jordan Humm: Sam Luke: Tom Nelson: Bailey Sykes: Adam Howland (Capt): Jordan King: Jack Franklin: Tom Scott-Stewart: Bradley Norman: Dan Dirilmis: Keith Paige.

14/10/06 Home – Horsham YMCA. (CDJFL Knock out cup).

Lost 1-3

Goal: Bailey Sykes.

Welcome back to Alex Smith making his first appearance in goal of the season!

Again we did not really compete against a strong Horsham side, the whole team seemed not able to play in the correct positions and despite getting the ball wide at times we did not make one cross from the wings for the whole of the game, Bailey Sykes scored late in the second half taking his tally to four for the season levelling with George Webzell as current top scorer for the season.

Squad: Alex Smith: Jordan Humm: Sam Luke: Tom Nelson: Sam Fitzgerald: Bailey Sykes: Adam Howland  (Capt): Jordan King: Jack Franklin: Tom Scott-Stewart: Bradley Norman: Tom Mead: Dan Dirilmis
