Rusthall Football Club

Thoughts from the chair:
Under 11 Tournament Win - A fortnight after announcing his retirement, Under 11 boss Mike Ryan pulled off a remarkable
tournament win at the week-end eclipsing anything messrs Howland and Fitzgerald have achieved this summer. Without subs he tactically saw off amongst others,Crowborough, Langton and hosts Jarvis Brook in the final rounds to secure the Cup for the Rustics. Special mentions are due to defender Liam Pentecost who scored 7 goals and James Webzell who was immense in defence.
Well Done Mike and all the boys for a fantastic win. Up the Rustics !
P.S. The Club are pleased to announce that Alan Bowesman will be taking the team forward next season as manager, as they switch to a Sunday in the CDJFL U/12 'B' Division

Andy and Nicks lads sweep up as Mick's boys just fall short!
Our Under 10's and Under 12's both had fantastic shield wins at the Ridgewaye
Tournament this weekend. The under 10's recovered from a slow start to beat Tonbridge Juniors in the final with a long punt from goalkeeper Ben Sykes bouncing over the opposite keeper to send the watching supporters wild. Not to be outdone the Under 12's made it three years running with their excellent shield win. Boss Andy Howland was full of praise for his squad but had time for some symphatetic comments for Mick Fitzgerald and his u/13 team who lost in the semi-finals on Saturday. Somehow they finished top of their group and went forward to the main competition losing to Jarvis Brook 1-0 in the semi''s - Up the Rustics

With over 800games for the club under his belt, including several successful spells as player- manager during which time his teams have won three KCL League titles, he is ideally situated to take the clubs 2nd side back into the reserve section of the KCL next season.
His knowledge ofthe 3rd team and Youth teams combined with the current 1st and 2nd team squads should ensure an excellent representation in this new League, whilst giving excellent support to the front side.
The full coaching and backroom staff will be announced later when confirmed.
Speaking on his appointment Rusbridge said he was looking forward to working with Hugo to push the Club forward from the front and put the players enjoyment of every game as a high priority.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT RE Saturday mornings:
Dave Rusbridge, Chairman,
C/o Jockey Farm, Rusthall
7th
November 2007
To all mini-soccer parents
The continued growth and progression within all sectors of our club recently has been phenomenal, within three years we have doubled the amount of teams we have and therefore the amount of playing and training provided has increased significantly.
The mini-soccer academy which runs on Saturday mornings has seen a steady incline in numbers since the summer, so much so that at Under 9’s we are planning to run an extra team to give all the players enough games, in fact, every age group is over subscribed.
With over 100 players in the academy your committee have reviewed the increased demands on the facilities at Jockey Farm on Saturday mornings and in particular the needs of the coaches to deliver a safe quality training session in enough space for the numbers they have.
To put it bluntly, there is simply not enough space for everyone at Jockey Farm on Saturday mornings for all the activities we try and provide.
Your committee have decided that as from Saturday 17th November
· All matches will continue at Jockey Farm
· Only the U/6’s,7’s, and 8’s will continue to train at the farm
· All older age groups ( 9’s,10’s 11’s and all the girls teams) will train at Southwood Rd on pre-booked areas co-ordinated by the managers
This is a major change in the provision of football at Rusthall and I would ask all parents to support the managers as they adapt to these changes.
The better playing surface and extra car parking at Southwood Rd will be most welcome to most during the wetter months ahead.
Yours in Sport
Dave Rusbridge
