Match Reports
Saturday20th October saw a visit to Jockey Farm by Hailsham and produced a good morning of football. With a confident start to the first match, the Eagles took control of the game early on, with at least four chances in the first half alone - including shots from Tyler Parker, Martha Kent, and one just over the post from Jordan Smith. Despite this, and the display of some good passing football, it was 0 -0 at half time and it was beginning to look like it just wasn't going to be our day and we might suffer the same fate as against Ridgewaye Comets. But, from the kick-off in the second half came the break - Jordan Smith took the ball quickly from the half way line, and success, 1 -0 up ! With this renewed boost to the team, it wasn't long before a Jordan's second goal came our way, and the team were happy to secure a good victory.

In the second game the confidence of a win showed, and Will Ebsworth began to make some soaring runs up from defence to take some attempts on goal - safe in the knowledge that  his other team mates would cover him at the back. After several attacks, this paid off with Will's first goal of the season and a lead for the team. Then, a little complacency and tiredness began to show and Hailsham had a few chances of their own - none of which really tested either Jordan Johns or Tyler Fagg during their stints in goal (although Tyler did perform one rather spectacular rolling dive at one stage)! However, a left footer from Jordan Smith finished the game off for Hailsham and we went on to accomplish a 3 - 0 win as Tyler Fagg added to the scoreline by the final whistle.

Both games were pleasing in terms of team spirit, keenness and confidence. Good attitude was seen in players willingness to switch around on pitch and in goal so that everyone has a chance to play. There were numerous individual successes in the games which were highlighted in the post match chats, but overall players should feel happy with the way they played as a team, and got that ball passing about. Well done to all.
