Owen making his debut did well in midfield as did James whilst Grant played well in goal. Robert was solid in defence. In the second game they lost 1-5, but this is no reflection on how they played as Jarvis Brook score 5 tremendous goals that you could not bargain for at this age. Finlay and Thomas worked hard for the team in this game and again our goal came from Adam.
Next up is Wadhurst at home on the 27th.
Rusthall under 8 started their season witha home fixture against Lingfield.
With new players Archie Elliott, Robert Skelton and Thomas Wild making their first appearances, Rusthall were stronger than they had been last season.
The Leopards opened up with a 2-1 one win with both goals coming from Adam Plunkett following good work by Finlay Crowhurst and Frasier Abbott. However they were indebted to Grant Luckas for two good saves and good defensive work from Max Forbes and Robert Skelton. In the second match they drew 2-2 with goals coming from Adam again and Max Forbes. Lingfield scored two cracking goals in this game despite the good defensive work of Woody Dufton and Josh Collins and the leopards were feeling disappointed not to have won
